Did you know Plymouth Rock really IS a rock? I thought it was more a figure of speech or a general place that the Mayflower landed. Like a stepping stone...And I have been to Plymouth, England and stood on the steps that the Pilgrims walked down to board the Mayflower.Much to my chagrin, I discovered on a trip to New England last year that I confused urban legend with historical fact. The other fallacy I uncovered was that George Washington's teeth were never made of wood... Learning new things on your vacation is always, as Martha says, "a good thing".
