Wifi Bars in SF
Gridskipper has a list of hotspots but they forgot a great one...Check out Canvas Gallery and Cafe at 1200 9th Ave and Lincoln Way. They are very laid back and no pressure to buy food or drinks. Bonus is the gallery.

That place on 9th and Lincoln is a good spot - the food is yummy and ranges from salty to desserts to wine. Remember to check the event listings. Sometimes they have loud bands that can totally interfere with deep, writerly thoughts.
Another good note - they have outlets available to plug in your laptop.

Canvas was a reliable spot, but didn't they close a month or so ago?
