Remember the Thin Man movies, with Dick Powell and Myrna Loy? And Asta their cute terrier? I do and guess what, so does Amtrak. This fall they are starting a luxury rail service called GrandLuxe Limited. It will be between a few major cities but give you all the style and class as Nick and Nora, only hopefully they will skip the murder and mayhem!

GrandLuxe Rail Journeys, (formerly American Orient Express) traces its roots back to the American European Express, which began been operation in 1989. A private company, GrandLuxe Rail Journeys operates independently of Amtrak and the various North American rail lines, but works closely with these companies for locomotive power and access to scenic routes throughout the United States and Canada.
