Joining in the carrying of a shrine during a festival is pretty neat. I have never done it but I know those that did, and I watched many during the different seasons while I lived in Tokyo.Recently I read on Tokyo Maven written by my favorite Galleria professional, who has been studying in Toyko, that he participated in this ritual. He had photos on Flickr that showed him towering over the others.
